On March 25th, at the Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Conference, Zhang Si, Chief Scientist of An'an International Academician Workstation and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, won the 2019 Guangdong Province Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award for her outstanding scientific research achievements.
Academician Zhang Si's key research areas are marine biology, marine medicine, and marine biochemical ecology.
Academician Zhang Si has been committed to the application of tropical marine ecological engineering technology in Guangdong Province for nearly 40 years of involvement in marine scientific research. Since assuming the position of Chief Scientist at the An'an International Academician Workstation, Academician Zhang Si has deeply infused his decades of scientific research essence into the research and development of national cosmetics brands, greatly promoting the technological content and quality upgrading of An'an International cosmetics research and development. The expert R&D team led by him has obtained national technology patents for multiple cosmetic research achievements. Among them, the patent achievement of "a cosmetic containing marine shellfish active peptide and its preparation method and application (patent number: ZL201110079404.0)" has successively won the "China Patent Excellence Award" issued by the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the "Guangdong Patent Gold Award" issued by the provincial government. With the support of Academician Zhang Si's patented technology, An An International collaborated with the South China Sea Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to jointly develop the high-end skincare product "Source Sea Deep Sea Biological Peptide Firming New Series", filling the gap in domestic "marine biological cosmetics".
Academician Zhang Si's scientific research achievements:
Mainly engaged in the research of bioactive terpenoids and alkaloids in the South China Sea and their mechanisms of action, as well as the active compounds and chemical ecology of mangrove plants in Hainan Island, and has achieved outstanding results in the field of marine pharmaceutical science research. It has established Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Marine Medicine, isolated and identified more than 1000 marine biological compounds, found more than 100 new compounds, and screened more than 70 compounds with biological activities such as anti Alzheimer's disease, anti-tumor, anti atherosclerosis, antibacterial or anti adhesion. Hosted and undertaken 29 important directional projects, including the National 973 Program, the National Innovation Fund, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Published 170 papers in core journals, of which 139 were included in SCI. 39 invention patents have been authorized. Publish two types of monographs. Received 8 national and provincial level scientific and technological progress awards, including 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 1 special prize of the Hainan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
